PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
Royalty Rising exists to help artists, songwriters, producers, music professionals and rights holders understand, organise, protect and maximise the value of their music.
This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Royalty Rising services may and may not be used.
It applies to the Royalty Rising website, apps, digital tools, accounts, upload areas, AI-assisted services and other Royalty Rising services operated by R-RISING TECHNOLOGIES LTD.
USE THE SERVICE LAWFULLY
You must use Royalty Rising lawfully and responsibly.
You must not use Royalty Rising to commit, assist, encourage or conceal unlawful activity.
MUSIC OWNERSHIP AND RIGHTS INFORMATION
You must not knowingly:
Claim ownership of music you do not own.
Claim authorship of music you did not create.
Misrepresent another person’s contribution to a song or recording.
Submit false writer, producer, performer, publisher or label information.
Submit fraudulent metadata.
Submit false royalty or ownership information.
Remove or manipulate rights information dishonestly.
Upload or process music where you do not have the necessary authority to do so.
COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
You must respect copyright, trade marks and other intellectual property rights.
You must not use Royalty Rising to upload, distribute, analyse or exploit material where doing so infringes another person’s rights.
If you are authorised to act for another rights holder, label, publisher, artist or organisation, you must only act within the scope of that authority.
FRAUD AND MISREPRESENTATION
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Commit fraud.
Attempt to obtain money through false information.
Create false identities.
Impersonate another person or organisation.
Create misleading accounts.
Manipulate ownership records dishonestly.
Submit fraudulent royalty claims.
Misrepresent your relationship with Royalty Rising.
Misuse discount, affiliate, referral, reward or agent systems.
Attempt to obtain paid services without lawful payment.
ACCOUNT SECURITY
You must not:
Access another user’s account without permission.
Attempt to obtain another person’s password or login information.
Bypass authentication or security controls.
Create accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
Attempt to interfere with account security.
You are responsible for keeping your own login information reasonably secure.
SECURITY AND TECHNICAL ABUSE
You must not:
Introduce viruses, malware, ransomware or harmful software.
Attempt to damage Royalty Rising systems.
Probe systems for vulnerabilities without authorisation.
Attempt to bypass access restrictions.
Interfere with servers, databases or infrastructure.
Carry out denial-of-service attacks.
Use automated systems in a way that places an unreasonable burden on Royalty Rising.
Attempt to extract confidential system information.
Circumvent technical protections.
Interfere with the normal operation of the service.
SCRAPING AND AUTOMATED ACCESS
You must not use bots, crawlers, scraping tools or automated systems to extract substantial amounts of Royalty Rising proprietary content or personal information without permission.
Reasonable use of legitimate search engines and technologies expressly authorised by Royalty Rising is not prohibited.
Automated access must not damage the service, breach another person’s rights or unlawfully collect personal information.
PERSONAL DATA AND PRIVACY
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Harvest personal information unlawfully.
Build unauthorised databases of users.
Expose another person’s private information.
Use information obtained through Royalty Rising for unlawful surveillance, harassment or fraud.
Share personal data where you do not have a lawful basis to do so.
Users should only submit personal information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant Royalty Rising service.
HARASSMENT AND ABUSE
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Threaten another person.
Harass another person.
Blackmail or extort another person.
Encourage violence.
Target another person with sustained abuse.
Publish another person’s private information maliciously.
Use Royalty Rising services to facilitate exploitation or serious harm.
MISUSE OF AI SERVICES
Where Royalty Rising provides AI-assisted services, you must not deliberately use those services to:
Commit fraud.
Generate knowingly false evidence.
Impersonate another person for deceptive purposes.
Create unlawful or malicious content.
Attempt to bypass security systems.
Extract confidential system instructions or protected information.
Facilitate intellectual property infringement.
Misrepresent AI output as verified professional legal, tax or financial advice.
AI-assisted information should be used responsibly and verified where accuracy is important.
FALSE INFORMATION
You should provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Royalty Rising understands that music rights information can be incomplete, disputed or difficult to establish.
An honest mistake is not the same as deliberate fraud.
However, knowingly supplying false or misleading information may result in action being taken against an account.
REFERRALS, AGENTS AND PROMOTIONAL SYSTEMS
Where Royalty Rising operates referral, affiliate, agent, commission, reward or promotional systems, users must not manipulate those systems dishonestly.
You must not:
Create fake customers.
Create false transactions.
Use fabricated identities.
Misrepresent who referred a customer.
Attempt to claim another person’s commission.
Use automated systems to generate fake activity.
Royalty Rising may investigate suspicious referral or commission activity before making payments.
PAYMENTS
You must not:
Use stolen payment information.
Attempt chargeback fraud.
Manipulate payment systems.
Make knowingly false claims about transactions.
Attempt to bypass paid access controls.
Payment disputes should be raised through the appropriate Royalty Rising support or payment process.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Royalty Rising may provide links or connections to distributors, collecting societies, streaming services, music databases, payment providers and other third parties.
You must comply with the applicable rules of those services when using them.
Royalty Rising does not authorise users to breach another organisation’s terms or systems.
REPORTING MISUSE
If you believe Royalty Rising is being used for fraud, copyright infringement, security abuse or other serious misuse, contact:

INVESTIGATING MISUSE
Where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, we may investigate.
This may include reviewing relevant account information, activity records, communications, uploaded information and payment or referral activity where reasonably necessary and lawful.
ACTION WE MAY TAKE
Depending on the seriousness of the issue, Royalty Rising may:
Issue a warning.
Ask a user to correct information.
Remove or restrict material.
Temporarily restrict an account.
Suspend an account.
Terminate an account.
Withhold disputed referral or commission payments while fraud is investigated.
Take reasonable security measures.
Preserve relevant evidence.
Report serious unlawful activity where legally required or appropriate.
PROPORTIONATE RESPONSE
Where possible, Royalty Rising will respond proportionately.
Minor mistakes may be corrected without account suspension.
Serious fraud, deliberate infringement, security attacks or unlawful conduct may result in immediate restriction or termination.
PRESERVATION OF EVIDENCE
Royalty Rising may preserve relevant records where reasonably necessary to:
Investigate suspected wrongdoing.
Protect users.
Protect the service.
Respond to legal proceedings.
Comply with legal obligations.
Resolve disputes.
LAW ENFORCEMENT AND REGULATORS
Where legally required, Royalty Rising may cooperate with courts, regulators, law enforcement agencies or other authorised bodies.
We will not disclose personal information merely because someone asks for it. Disclosure must have an appropriate lawful basis.
NO WAIVER OF LEGAL RIGHTS
Nothing in this policy removes any legal right belonging to Royalty Rising or its users.
Nothing in this policy prevents legitimate activity that cannot lawfully be prohibited.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as Royalty Rising develops or where legal, security or operational requirements change.
The current version will be published on the Royalty Rising website with the date of the latest update.
