1. PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
Royalty Rising exists to help artists, songwriters, producers, music professionals and rights holders understand, organise, protect and maximise the value of their music.
This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Royalty Rising services may and may not be used.
It applies to Royalty Rising websites, applications, accounts, Song Objects, digital tools, upload facilities, AI-assisted services, rights and metadata tools, educational services and other Royalty Rising services operated by R-RISING TECHNOLOGIES LTD.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.
2. AGE AND YOUNGER USERS
Royalty Rising accounts are currently available from age 13.
Users under 13 may not create an independent Royalty Rising account.
Users aged 13 to 17 may use eligible Royalty Rising services subject to the additional privacy and safety protections that apply to younger users.
You must not:
Falsify your age in order to bypass an age restriction.
Encourage a person under 13 to create an account contrary to our age rules.
Use another person's account to bypass age protections.
Attempt to disable or circumvent protections applied to younger users.
Use Royalty Rising to target, manipulate or exploit younger users.
Seek unnecessary private information from a younger user.
Royalty Rising may take proportionate steps to protect younger users and enforce age-related restrictions.
3. USE ROYALTY RISING LAWFULLY
You must use Royalty Rising lawfully and responsibly.
You must not use Royalty Rising to commit, facilitate, encourage, organise, conceal or assist unlawful activity.
You must not knowingly use Royalty Rising in a manner that infringes another person's legal rights.
4. MUSIC OWNERSHIP AND RIGHTS INFORMATION
You must not knowingly:
Claim ownership of music you do not own.
Claim authorship of music you did not create.
Misrepresent another person's contribution to a song or recording.
Submit false songwriter information.
Submit false performer information.
Submit false producer information.
Submit false publisher or label information.
Submit fraudulent metadata.
Submit false royalty information.
Submit false ownership information.
Remove or manipulate rights information dishonestly.
Create a false rights history.
Upload or process music where you do not have the necessary authority.
An honest mistake concerning complex music-rights information is not the same as deliberate fraud.
Users should correct inaccurate information when they become aware that it is wrong.
5. COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
You must respect copyright, trade marks, database rights and other intellectual property rights.
You must not knowingly use Royalty Rising to:
Upload infringing material.
Distribute infringing material.
Process material where you do not have the necessary rights or authority.
Falsely claim another person's work as your own.
Remove or falsify copyright information.
Misrepresent ownership of a master, composition or other protected work.
Use Royalty Rising material in a way that infringes R-RISING TECHNOLOGIES LTD's intellectual property rights.
If you are authorised to act for another artist, rights holder, label, publisher or organisation, you must act within the scope of that authority.

6. FRAUD, IMPERSONATION AND MISREPRESENTATION
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Commit fraud.
Attempt to obtain money through false information.
Create a false identity for a dishonest purpose.
Impersonate another person or organisation.
Take control of another person's account.
Create misleading accounts.
Manipulate ownership records dishonestly.
Submit fraudulent royalty claims.
Submit fabricated documents.
Misrepresent your relationship with Royalty Rising.
Pretend to be an authorised Royalty Rising representative when you are not.
Manipulate referral, agent, commission, reward or promotional systems.
Attempt to obtain paid services dishonestly.
7. ACCOUNT SECURITY
You must not:
Access another user's account without permission.
Attempt to obtain another person's password or login credentials improperly.
Share stolen login credentials.
Bypass authentication controls.
Bypass age restrictions.
Circumvent account restrictions.
Create accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
Attempt to interfere with account security.
You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your own login information.

8. SECURITY AND TECHNICAL ABUSE
You must not:
Introduce viruses, malware, ransomware or harmful code.
Attempt to damage Royalty Rising systems.
Probe or scan systems for vulnerabilities without authorisation.
Attempt unauthorised access to servers, databases, infrastructure or accounts.
Bypass technical protections.
Carry out denial-of-service or similar attacks.
Interfere with normal operation of the service.
Attempt to extract passwords, authentication tokens or confidential security information.
Exploit a vulnerability for malicious purposes.
Use automated systems in a manner that places an unreasonable burden on Royalty Rising infrastructure.
If you discover a genuine security vulnerability, you should report it responsibly rather than exploit it.
9. SCRAPING, BOTS AND AUTOMATED ACCESS
You must not use bots, crawlers, scraping tools or automated systems to:
Extract substantial protected Royalty Rising content without permission.
Harvest personal information.
Circumvent access controls.
Overload Royalty Rising systems.
Create fraudulent traffic or activity.
Copy protected databases unlawfully.
Interfere with service operation.
Legitimate search-engine indexing and automated technology expressly authorised by Royalty Rising are not prohibited.
Nothing in this section prevents activity that applicable law expressly permits and that cannot lawfully be restricted.
10. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Harvest personal information unlawfully.
Build unauthorised databases of users.
Expose another person's private information without lawful justification.
Use personal information for fraud.
Use personal information for unlawful surveillance.
Use personal information to harass or threaten someone.
Disclose another person's private contact information maliciously.
Attempt to identify an anonymous or private user unlawfully.
Share personal information where you do not have an appropriate lawful basis.
Users should only submit personal information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant Royalty Rising service.
11. PROTECTION OF YOUNGER USERS
Royalty Rising takes the safety and privacy of younger creators seriously.
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Exploit a person under 18.
Groom or attempt to groom a younger user.
Coerce a younger user into private communication for an exploitative purpose.
Seek sexual material from a younger user.
Send sexual material to a younger user.
Encourage a younger user to provide unnecessary private information.
Encourage a younger user to reveal precise location information unnecessarily.
Pressure a younger user to weaken privacy protections.
Manipulate a younger user for financial, sexual or other exploitative purposes.
Attempt to bypass protections designed for users under 18.
Serious concerns involving the exploitation or safety of a younger person may result in immediate account restriction and may be reported to an appropriate authority where lawful and appropriate.
12. HARASSMENT, THREATS AND EXPLOITATION
You must not use Royalty Rising to:
Threaten another person.
Harass another person.
Blackmail or extort another person.
Stalk another person.
Encourage violence against another person.
Target another person with sustained abuse.
Publish another person's private information maliciously.
Facilitate exploitation.
Facilitate trafficking.
Facilitate serious physical harm.
Use Royalty Rising to intimidate a person in connection with a music-rights, royalty or ownership dispute.
13. ILLEGAL OR SERIOUSLY HARMFUL MATERIAL
You must not knowingly use Royalty Rising to create, upload, distribute, store or facilitate material where doing so is unlawful.
This includes material involving:
Child sexual exploitation or abuse.
Non-consensual intimate images.
Credible threats of serious violence.
Fraud.
Terrorism offences.
Serious criminal exploitation.
Other material whose possession, distribution or facilitation is unlawful.
Where Royalty Rising becomes aware of potentially unlawful material, we may take action consistent with applicable law and the nature of our service.
14. MISUSE OF AI SERVICES
Where Royalty Rising provides AI-assisted services, you must not deliberately use those services to:
Commit fraud.
Generate knowingly false evidence.
Impersonate another person for a deceptive purpose.
Create malicious content for unlawful use.
Attempt to bypass security controls.
Extract protected system information through malicious means.
Facilitate intellectual property infringement.
Generate fraudulent royalty or ownership information.
Create deceptive documents intended to misrepresent legal ownership.
Manipulate younger users.
Use AI output to falsely represent that Royalty Rising has provided regulated legal, financial or tax advice.
AI-assisted information should be used responsibly and checked where accuracy is important.
15. FALSE OR MISLEADING INFORMATION
You should provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Royalty Rising recognises that music-rights information can be:
Incomplete.
Disputed.
Complex.
Difficult to establish.
Subject to change.
An honest error does not automatically constitute misuse.
However, knowingly supplying materially false or misleading information may result in corrective or enforcement action.
16. REFERRALS, REPRESENTATIVES, AGENTS AND PROMOTIONS
Where Royalty Rising operates referral, representative, affiliate, agent, commission, reward or promotional systems, users must not manipulate those systems dishonestly.
You must not:
Create fake customers.
Create false transactions.
Use fabricated identities.
Manufacture referrals.
Misrepresent who referred a customer.
Attempt to claim another person's commission.
Use automated systems to create fake activity.
Create accounts solely to generate illegitimate rewards.
Collude with another person to manipulate a referral or reward system.
Royalty Rising may investigate suspicious activity before paying a commission or reward where such systems operate.
17. PAID SERVICES
Royalty Rising does not currently operate a payment system within its main application.
If paid services are introduced, users must not:
Use stolen payment information.
Commit chargeback fraud.
Manipulate payment systems.
Make knowingly false claims about transactions.
Circumvent paid access controls.
Attempt to bypass a requirement for parent or legal guardian authorisation applying to a user under 18.
Payment disputes should be raised through the appropriate Royalty Rising support or payment process.
Nothing in this section removes statutory consumer rights.
18. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Royalty Rising may provide links to or integrations with:
Distributors.
Collecting societies.
Streaming platforms.
Music databases.
Payment providers.
Professional services.
Government organisations.
Other third parties.
You must not use Royalty Rising as a means of attacking, abusing or circumventing another organisation's systems.
Where you use an independent third-party service, you are responsible for complying with applicable law and any valid terms governing your use of that service.
Royalty Rising does not authorise users to breach another organisation's systems or rights.
19. REPORTING MISUSE
If you believe Royalty Rising is being used for:
Fraud.
Copyright infringement.
Security abuse.
Harassment.
Exploitation.
Abuse involving a younger user.
Serious unlawful activity.
Other significant misuse.
Contact:
Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate the issue.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency or law-enforcement service rather than relying solely on a report to Royalty Rising.
20. INVESTIGATING SUSPECTED MISUSE
Where we reasonably believe this policy may have been breached, Royalty Rising may investigate.
Where reasonably necessary and lawful, an investigation may involve reviewing relevant:
Account information.
Security records.
Activity records.
Communications with Royalty Rising.
Uploaded information.
Song Object information.
Referral activity.
Transaction information where payment services exist.
Technical logs.
Reports submitted by other users or rights holders.
Investigations will be carried out proportionately and in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.
21. ACTION ROYALTY RISING MAY TAKE
Depending on the circumstances, Royalty Rising may:
Take no action where a report is unsupported.
Ask for additional information.
Ask a user to correct information.
Issue a warning.
Remove or restrict material.
Temporarily restrict functionality.
Temporarily restrict an account.
Suspend an account.
Terminate an account in serious cases.
Restrict a disputed referral or commission while fraud is investigated.
Take reasonable security measures.
Preserve relevant evidence.
Refer a rights dispute to an appropriate external process.
Report serious unlawful activity where legally required or otherwise lawful and appropriate.
The response will depend on the facts, seriousness, risk and available evidence.
22. PROPORTIONATE RESPONSE
Royalty Rising aims to respond proportionately.
An honest error will not normally be treated in the same way as deliberate fraud.
Minor or correctable problems may be resolved without account suspension.
Immediate restriction may be appropriate where there is a credible risk involving:
Serious fraud.
Security attacks.
Child exploitation.
Serious harassment.
Threats of violence.
Deliberate intellectual property infringement.
Serious unlawful activity.
An urgent risk to another person.
23. YOUNGER USER ACCOUNTS
Where an issue concerns a user aged 13 to 17, Royalty Rising will take the user's age and best interests into account when deciding what action is appropriate.
We will not unnecessarily disclose a younger user's personal information to another user.
Where a younger user's account must be restricted for safety or compliance reasons, Royalty Rising will aim to preserve legitimate music and account information where it is appropriate and lawful to do so.
A parent or legal guardian does not automatically acquire unrestricted access to a younger user's private Royalty Rising information merely because the user is under 18.
24. PRESERVATION OF RECORDS
Royalty Rising may preserve relevant records where reasonably necessary and lawful to:
Investigate suspected wrongdoing.
Protect users.
Protect younger users.
Protect Royalty Rising systems.
Resolve disputes.
Protect intellectual property.
Respond to legal proceedings.
Comply with legal obligations.
Prevent fraud.
Preservation of information does not mean Royalty Rising has concluded that wrongdoing occurred.
25. LAW ENFORCEMENT, COURTS AND REGULATORS
Royalty Rising may cooperate with courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies and other legally authorised authorities where required or permitted by law.
We will not disclose personal information merely because someone asks for it.
Any disclosure of personal information must have an appropriate lawful basis.
Personal information is otherwise handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
26. ONLINE SAFETY
Royalty Rising will review its obligations under applicable online-safety legislation as its services develop.
The legal requirements applying to an online service depend partly on the functions that service provides.
If Royalty Rising introduces functionality that allows users to upload or share content that may be encountered by other users, communicate directly with one another, or otherwise introduces functionality within the scope of applicable online-safety legislation, we will assess and implement any additional legal duties that apply.
Nothing in this policy is intended to suggest that publication of an Acceptable Use Policy alone satisfies any regulatory obligation that may apply to a particular Royalty Rising service.
27. NO WAIVER OF LEGAL RIGHTS
Nothing in this policy removes:
A statutory consumer right.
A data-protection right.
An intellectual property right.
A legal defence or exception that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any other right that applicable law prevents Royalty Rising from removing by contract.
Nothing in this policy prevents legitimate activity that applicable law expressly protects.
28. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Royalty Rising may update this Acceptable Use Policy where reasonably necessary because of:
Changes to Royalty Rising services.
Changes to technology.
Security requirements.
Changes to law or regulation.
Changes relating to younger-user protections.
New forms of misuse or fraud.
Changes to Royalty Rising functionality.
The current version will be published on the Royalty Rising website together with the date it was last updated.
A later version will not retrospectively convert lawful past conduct into a breach of this policy.
